FDA Study Updates

After the citizens petition of 2012, the FDA responded in 2014 with a grant for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia(CHOP) to complete the Polyethylene Glycol Safety in children study. When MiraLAX came over the counter in 2006, the FDA required a pediatric study,  however in 2010 the FDA waived the pediatric study.

Thankfully the citizen’s petition caught the attention of the FDA, CHOP was supposed to have the study done in 2015, finally an update was provided by the FDA indicating the study would be done in 2018. And now there is a tentative completion date of June 2024, or ten (10) years after the initial grant was issued to CHOP.  Fingers crossed that the study is completed in the coming months.
